Chiachio & Giannone

Embroidery is the technique we use to develop our work. Both of us have decided to move our pictorial knowledge to the driest part of the embroidery, and to expand the limits of its configurations. We are also interested in working with simple and common school type materials (decoupage, colored pencils, ect. or household items (sewing thread, embroidery thread, buttons, beads, etc.) that transform and embellish each piece of work.
Our intention in using the techniques previously reserved to the feminine gender and, in some cases, to the world of children is to rescue that is handmade craft/art and also to show that two men can enter this world with absolute freedom; two men, playing like children.
In our portraits, in which we used to be the only protagonists the image of Piolín (dachshund dog), our pet, began to appear.
